East of England Ambulance NHS Trust

11th June 2015

Anne Main has praised the East of England Ambulance Service (EEAS) NHS Trust for ‘significant improvement’ in performance and a better recruitment process.

Anne said, ‘there has been a significant improvement in the performance EEAS.

‘When I last met the ambulance service I expressed my concerns about their underperformance. Indeed, I am pleased that since Dr Anthony Marsh joined the Trust, that the EEAS are now the best performing service in the country for the speed of reaching critical patients and answering emergency calls.

‘Only last year there were 700 vacancies, and the problems with recruitment was a one of the main factors for poor response times.

‘I understand the service is still going through the tendering process with the universities to secure a higher education provider, but the strides they have made so far are to be thoroughly commended.’
