Anne has written to the leader of Hertfordshire County Council, outlining her concerns about the railfreight developer’s plans for a sustainable travel plan.
In her letter, the St Albans MP lambasts Network Rail and Segro for their handling of the plans:
‘Much of Segro and Network Rail’s (NR) correspondence can be characterised as being vague and many of its proposals as being non-quantifiable. I do believe that these matters deserve the scrutiny of the highways authority. Segro’s approach appears to be wholly reactive: their sustainable travel infrastructure will be implemented only after months of employee surveys have been completed and unsustainable modes of travel have been habitualised. This is to say nothing of NR’s casual approach to delivering vital infrastructure upgrades.’
