St Albans MP, Anne Main attended the Luton Airport consultation event at the Jubilee Centre last week. Mrs Main spoke to residents living under the flight path and representatives from London Luton Airport Limited (LLAL) at the event.
The consultation process is part of Luton’s plan to expand the airport to 38 million passengers per year by 2050 and they are encouraging everyone to contribute to the consultation and to have their say.
Mrs Main said, ‘I am pleased that LLAL are consulting widely on their proposals for expansion. There are many benefits to expanding the airport but there are of course very real concerns about the impact this will have on local residents. I regularly receive complaints from constituents about the aircraft noise from Luton, particularly after the introduction of the disastrous RNAV flight path, and this must be addressed as they look to expand.’
‘I hope as many people in St Albans as possible can engage with this consultation and make their views known. We must highlight the importance of Luton being considerate to local communities and to do everything possible to reduce the ever increasing noise burden on residents below the flight path.’
