Bangladesh conference

6th September 2017

Anne was guest speaker on the second year of the Non-Residents Bangladesh conference.  Mrs Main was joined by vice-chairs of the APPG on Bangladesh, Jim Fitzpatrick and Rushanara Ali.

The St Albans MP spoke of the growth potential of the country and the importance of its garment sector.  Anne stated that more needs to be done to protect Bangladeshi factory workers, despite the progress made in recent years with the major agreements between global retailers and brands and trade unions - the Accord on Fire and Building Safety, and the Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety.
