Earlier today, Anne Main and STRiFE members met with the First Capital Connect to discuss the potential adverse impacts of the Radlett Aerodrome proposal for a Strategic Rail Freight Interchange.
Earlier today, Anne Main, MP for St Albans, and STRiFE members Cathy Bolshaw and Doug Hirst met with Jim Morgan, Managing Director of First Capital Connect, and Larry Heyman, First Capital Connect Integration & Partnership Manager, to discuss the potential adverse impacts of the Radlett Aerodrome proposal for a Strategic Rail Freight Interchange.
Anne said:
"The last application would have had an extremely negative impact on commuter services into London. Last time, I believe the Inspector placed undue emphasis on Network Rail's assurances that this was not the case despite little evidence being submitted to back up that argument. This time I shall expect to see facts and figures on this.
Significant projects have come online since the last proposal and it is important that the impact on train services is scrutinised at the highest and most technical level. Bland assurances just won't do.
I will continue, with STRiFE, to fight this proposal as I feel it would have a detrimental impact on our community."
