Rail freight news – Helioslough submit High Court Appeal

I am sorry to have to report that, following the Secretary of State’s decision to reject the rail freight appeal, papers have been submitted by Helioslough to the High Court seeking to challenge that decision. It appears that there will be a detailed and specific challenge on precise aspects, and I understand that a two-day hearing on this will take place in either January or February.

I am sure you will agree this is another blow. We thought we had finally rejected this proposal, which has already been dismissed on four occasions, and yet Helioslough seem determined to keep pushing this matter. They continue in spite of the decision of local people, the local council and the Government Minister that this is the wrong location for such a development.

We all feel ground down by the repeated targeting of this site, and this protracted onslaught means yet more stress for all of us and, potentially, more expense for our District Council.

I will do my best to keep you updated, and you can keep informed by visiting the STRiFE website at www.strife.biz, or my rail freight specific website at www.no2railfreight.com

With best wishes,
