Railfreight decision due
Since my last letter to you the consultation about planning application
5/2009/0708 has finished. Thank you to those of you who took the time to
express to the Council your opposition to the proposal.
A decision on the application is now due at the Planning Referrals
Committee meeting on Monday 20th July. The meeting will begin
at 7pm and will be held at the Alban Arena. I will be attending and would
urge as many of you as possible to be there to show the community’s opposition
to these plans.
I will also be speaking at a demonstration, organised by STRIFE, due to
take place this Saturday, 11th July, at 11am outside the Alban
Arena. Please come along, make your views known and show your support for
the hard working team who are leading the opposition to these proposals.
Since my last letter I have also met again with First Capital Connect,
who are extremely concerned about the impact on local commuter services, and I
will continue to work with them and STRIFE to fight this proposal. Thank
you for your ongoing support.
With best wishes,

Anne Main
