Anne Main, MP for St Albans, has today encouraged local businesses who are struggling in the economic downturn to consider attending the HM Revenue and Customs Business Advice Open Day Roadshow when it visits St Albans next month.
The roadshow will be held at Sopwell House on Thursday 7th May, and offers a range of seminars for local business people. The event allows participants to access a team of experts who can give technical support on a range of subjects. Help is also available on dealing with the burden of Government regulation and enhancing businesses through funding, marketing and new technology.
Anne said:
"I am pleased that these seminars are being offered to local businesses. I have been raising the problems of St Albans' businesses with the Government at every opportunity in recent months as I know that many are really struggling in these testing times.
I know from my business summit in February that many feel that HMRC has failed to keep them informed of the options open to them and this is a criticism I have been passing on to the Government.
I am glad that the Government finally appears to be listening and attempting to pass on help to business. I hope that help will now get through to those who need it, as I know it has failed to in the past. If any local business people are in need of help and advice I would urge them to book a place today."
