Railfreight Consultation Going Ahead

20th February 2009

Following news that Helioslough are planning to submit another application for a railfreight interchange there will be a public consultation on 13th and 14th March in the Mountbatten Suite of the Noke Hotel, Watford Road Chiswell Green.

Following the news that Helioslough are planning to submit another application for a strategic railfreight interchange on green belt land on the site of the former Radlett Aerodrome, there will be a public consultation held on 13th and 14th March in the Mountbatten Suite of the Noke Hotel, Watford Road Chiswell Green.

STRiFE are continuing to fight this proposal and need as much support as the residents of St Albans can give them.

Anne said:

"It is no surprise that the developer has scurried back with a new proposal. This is still a monstrous application which we must resist strongly.

I am urging all my constituents, who share my concerns, to go along to this consultation and to make their views known to both the Council and the developer. This is a completely new application so we must fight this battle afresh as only objections relating to this specific application will be taken into consideration. I do not want this to slip through because St Albans did not get a wake up call in time.

STRiFE need our support now, more than ever, and I will continue to work with them to fight this potentially disastrous proposal.""
