Proud to promote St Albans
St Albans MP Anne Main joined District and County tourism officers at the 'Best of Britain & Ireland' travel show yesterday (17th March) as part of British Tourism Week.
Anne met with St Albans Tourism and Regeneration Manager, Charles Baker, and Hertfordshire Tourism Manager, Annie Hawkins, on their stall at the show, to discuss what is being done to promote St Albans and Hertfordshire to visitors.
Anne said:
“I was delighted to see what a great job St Albans and Hertfordshire are doing, going all out to promote our area to visitors. We have a great deal to offer and it is really important to let people know about it.
Listening to the team talking to visitors to the stall, it was great to hear how positively they were selling our area. I always do my best to underline what a fabulous destination St Albans is, and I am proud to promote our city. We have some great tourist attractions, and rich natural and historical offerings, making for a great day trip or holiday destination.
It is particularly important that we take full advantage of any potential boost to tourism surrounding the Olympics, and I have raised this matter in Parliament a number of times. I was pleased to hear that Annie and Charles and are already on the ball and pushing to ensure St Albans maximises any potential benefits from the games.”
