NRB Conference

13th July 2016

As the Chair of the APPG for Bangladesh Anne was the Guest of Honour at the Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) conference in Westminster.

The NRB, chaired by M S Shekil Chowdhury, received warm messages of support from Her Majesty The Queen, and the Bangladeshi Prime Minister.

Anne used the conference to promote security in the country following the recent appalling terrorist attacks in Dhaka saying, ‘it is important that stability is achieved to help businesses continue to thrive.’

Anne has been discussing the ongoing political situation in Bangladesh with the High Commissioner and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

‘It is imperative that we do not allow this latest in a long-line of attacks to be capitalised on for the purpose of political retribution.’
