Anne Main comments on the NHS 'Health Profile' of St Albans which shows that road injuries and deaths in the area are 'significantly worse than the England average'
Commenting on the NHS 'Health Profile' of St Albans (released 30/6/09) which shows that road injuries and deaths in the area are 'significantly worse than the England average', Anne Main, MP for St Albans, said:
"We all know that the ever increasing volumes of traffic and congestion which plague St Albans are a nightmare, and that you literally take your life in your hands when negotiating some of our busier roads, but this data underlines how truly hazardous to health our local traffic issues can be.
We now have clear data that this is risking the lives of local people residents, which is very worrying. I know our local councils and residents are keen to get this sorted, and I hope the Government will take it into account when considering future funding for our highways, which often get such a raw deal.""
