Healthcare figures show steady improvement at West Herts Hospitals NHS Trust

Anne Main comments on the publication of the Care Quality Commission's NHS performance ratings for 2008/9.
Following the publication of the Care Quality Commission's NHS performance ratings for 2008/9, Anne Main, MP for St Albans, said:
"I have discussed these results with Jan Filochowski, Chief Executive of West Herts Hospitals NHS Trust, and am pleased that the ratings continue to show an improvement in the right direction. This trend must be maintained.
We also discussed improvements in patient experience and Mr Filochowski reported that there had been significant improvements in the patient survey. However, I did point out that constituents have told me that parking is inadequate on the City Hospital site and the lack of parking has lead to cars parking in the neighbouring roads. This is something which I have been raising with the Trust for two years.
I was pleased to hear that this is an issue which is being considered, especially in light of the intensification of the site, and we have agreed to meet on site in the near future to look at possible options, with a view to improving parking.
I believe that if we are going to ensure that the Trust is delivering a quality all-round service on the City Hospital site, part of that equation must be improving public transport and parking."
