Healthcare Commission Maternity Service Review results disappointing

Anne Main comments on the results of the Healthcare Commission's Maternity Service Review.
Commenting on the results of the Healthcare Commission's Maternity Service Review, Anne said:
"There are no two ways about it, these results are disappointing for the Hertfordshire Trusts. I know there are some anomalies with incomplete data but, nevertheless, it is saddening to see our health services languishing at the bottom of league tables once again, and must be very disheartening for NHS staff.
Having discussed West Herts Trusts' results with Chief Executive, Jan Filochowski, and been briefed by East and North Herts Trust, I know that these results do not reflect infant mortality and outcome rates, which are good in Hertfordshire, and we can be thankful for this. I can only hope that given recent changes, and the filling of vacant midwife posts in West Herts Trust, this report is already outdated and the corner has been turned." "
