Good turnout for Abbey hustings

Anne Main comments on last night's Churches Together hustings at the Cathedral and Abbey Church of Saint Alban.
Anne Main, Conservative Candidate for St Albans said:
"As always, there was a good turnout at the Abbey for the Churches Together hustings. There were many good questions, and I thought it inspired some good debate amongst the candidates.
“One point on which I was surprised was the response by Roma Mills, the Labour candidate, on the NHS. She said she was happy with the centralisation of services at Watford. I am not happy, and I will continue to press for the Urgent Care Centre we were promised, or at least a similar service. We cannot keep being let down on local health care provision-it's quite clear Labour has given up on St Albans.
“I also though it was interesting that Mr Walkington chose to airbrush his time as a professional lobbyist out of his CV, despite the fact that details of his previous career have been published in the Daily Mail today. From his recent hustings speeches, it seems he can easily remind us of what he was doing 35 years ago, but he conveniently forgets to tell us what he was doing for the last five years."
