Avian Influenza

On behalf of a concerned constituent Anne Main asked Parliamentary Question as to whether pigeons could be a 'disease reservoir for avian influenza.'
She has been told by the Minister that although the risk of pigeons spreading the virus is small anybody who notices unusual 'die-off' in pigeons or other wild birds should call the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs helpline on 08459 33 55 77 where further advice will be given."
