Following the release of the Healthcare Commission's annual "Health Check" survey of the NHS today, Anne Main, MP for St Albans, has praised the work of West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust, which has improved its results.
The Trust improved in the two key standards to receive a "Fair" rating in both use of resources and quality of services in the survey. For the past two years, the Trust has been rated "weak" in both categories.
Anne said:
"These results are good news for our local health services. I am pleased that the hard work of the Trust staff, and new Trust Chief Jan Filochowski, seems to have paid off in terms of improvements in the Trust.
I have regular meetings with Mr Filochowski, and I know some tough decisions have had to be made, but I am pleased that this has led to such marked improvements in the quality of services.""
