Anne Main MP secures pot holes debate
15th March 2010
Anne Main, MP for St Albans, has secured a Parliamentary debate on pot holes. The debate, due to take place this Tuesday (16th March) will be a chance to challenge Government Ministers over the poor state of roads in Hertfordshire and the country as a whole.
Anne said:
“Britain’s roads are in a dreadful state and St Albans is riddled with pot holes. I am heartily sick of this matter being turned into a political points-scoring exercise.
We have had systemic under-funding for Hertfordshire’s roads and the severe weather has caused this problem to worsen. This is why I have called this debate to ensure the Minister is aware of the magnitude of the problems facing St Albans motorists and local taxpayers. We need proper funding and our roads need urgent repair.”
