Anne Main responds to Herts County Council's announcement about pland for Francis Bacon School.
Responding to Hertfordshire County Council’s announcement about plans for Francis Bacon School, Anne Main, MP for St Albans, said:
“There has been a certain amount of unhappiness amongst local people about Francis Bacon School in recent years, and this has led to a significant drop off in the volume of parents willing to accept it as their school of choice.
“I came to the conclusion some time ago that the only way forward is for the school, in its current form, to in effect close and for a new school with a completely new focus and a brighter future to be reformed in its place.
“There is no doubt there is a need for a good school to be placed at this location to serve local parents and I am pleased that the Council has taken this radical step to ensure a better future for local youngsters.”
