Anne Main MP – FCC managers face up to commuter wrath
8th February 2010
Anne Main comments on the ‘Meet the Managers’ session with First Capital Connect bosses at St Albans station.
Following Friday’s ‘Meet the Managers’ session with First Capital Connect bosses at St Albans station, Anne Main, MP for St Albans, said:
“Hundreds of people stopped by the event to vent their anger to First Capital Connect Managing Director, Neal Lawson, and his staff. This was completely understandable considering the huge problems over the last few months.
Management seemed flexible on compensation, and I hope they will heed calls for a better package for commuters. This will be key if they are to rebuild the trust of passengers. There were many other niggles which I hope FCC staff will consider and respond to. I must admit the team seemed anxious to sort things out, and this is all the more pressing if FCC are intent on trying to retain the franchise.
Neal Lawson agreed to come again for another ‘Meet the Managers’ session over the summer, and I think this would be valuable. The company have admitted that they have failed to communicate with customers in the past and they must do everything they can to prevent this debacle happening again.”
