Anne Main highlights postal vote information error
26th April 2010
Anne Main, Conservative Candidate for St Albans, has today highlighted an error in the postal voting information which many local people have received.
Anne said:
"Many constituents registered for a postal vote will have received a letter from St Albans District Council to tell them about the process for voting.
However, this letter appears to contain an error, apparently suggesting that if a postal vote is not sent by post then that person will be unable to vote in person at the local polling station.
This is incorrect, and it has been drawn to the attention of the returning officer. Anyone who has not sent their postal vote by the deadline can still vote in person by returning the completed postal vote to the polling station on election day. However, you must take your postal vote slip with you.
I felt it was important to highlight this, as I would hate anybody to miss out on voting in such an important election."
