Anne Main, MP for St Albans, joined the runners and supporters at the third annual Herts 10k run in Rothamsted yesterday, on a day that saw a record-breaking 2,500 competitors taking part in aid of Grove House hospice.
Anne said:
"We were lucky to have such beautiful weather for the run, which drew 2,500 participants, and I understand that Grove House hospice is hoping to raise as much as £150,000 from sponsorship. It was brilliant to have the opportunity to be part of such a successful event, and present prizes to some of the winners.
It's great that so many people turned out, and I was thrilled to meet some runners from as far away as Swansea who were taking part, as well as a huge number from our area. The organisers of the event have every reason to be delighted with their efforts and I hope that next years run will be even better!"
